Belsaw - Mt. Vernon Jaguars Team Up with the Citronelle Wildcats!!!     

Belsaw - Mt. Vernon Middle School and Citronelle High School are teaming up to combine the 7^th &  8^th grade football team from Mt. Vernon with the team at Citronelle High School.  These two schools are thinking outside the box in order to meet the needs of both schools.  Due to the small number of students involved in the football program at Belsaw and the desire to continue to build the football program at Citronelle these two schools are working together to provide a high quality athletic program with academics in the fore front.  Alex Crane, principal at Citronelle High School and Renae Edmond, principal of Belsaw - Mt. Vernon are working closely with Central Office and the new head football coach for Citronelle, Jeremy Sullivan to work out all of the details.  Both schools see this as a positive step forward for both programs.  Coach Sullivan met with the parents of the Belsaw students on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in the cafeteria at Belsaw - Mt. Vernon School.  He expressed his excitement over this wonderful opportunity.  To learn more about the program or if you have a student that attends Belsaw - Mt. Vernon School and will be in the 7^th or 8^th grade next year and you did not attend the meeting on Wednesday and are interested in your child becoming a part of the football team please contact Mrs. Edmond at 221 - 1030 for more information.  Both schools look forward to a successful year on the academic field, as well as, the athletic field!
